About This Comic
In "Charley's War: The Great War," young Charley Bourne embarks on a harrowing journey through the brutal realities of World War I. Initially fueled by youthful naivety, Charley's experiences on the Western Front shatter romantic notions of heroism. He faces the chaos of trench warfare, grappling with loss, moral dilemmas, and the absurdity of conflict. As his comrades fall and the horrors of battle unfold, Charley evolves from an eager soldier to a disillusioned survivor, questioning the very nature of valor and survival. This poignant narrative, enhanced by Joe Colquhoun's striking art, profoundly critiques the romanticism of war, offering timeless relevance.
